We're starting a fun new blog series to help you discover some new food and kitchen related factory tours in your area. My mom instilled in me a love for travel and discovering new things. We hope you'll enjoy taking a day trip or quick weekend rendezvous to attend some of these tours. We'll be adding more states soon! 1. Golden Flake - Birmingham, Alabama
During this 45 minute tour, you will see the production process of Golden Flake snacks, from fresh whole potatoes and corn to the finished great tasting packaged snacks on their way to your local retailer. Request a tour from this link.
2. Bud's Best Cookies - Birmingham, Alabama
You'll have to call to make a reservation, but your sweet tooth will thank you. Tours are held during the school year on Monday and Tuesdays only. Reservation information here.
3. Back Forty Beer Co - Gadsden, Alabama
Tours are on Saturdays only at 4:00. We recommend calling ahead to get additional details. You can find the address at their website here.
4. Golden Eagle Syrup - Fayette, Alabama

5. Bluebell Ice Cream - Sylacauga, Alabama
Although the factory itself does not offer tours, they have a Country Store and Ice Cream Parlor with windows to view the manufacturing process. Open M-F 9a-4:30pm.
6. Belle Chevre - Elkmont, Alabama
Tour the facilities and enjoy tastings at the goat farm/cheese making facility. For only $12, sign up for a tour here.
7. Cahaba Lily Festival - West Blocton, Alabama
Although this festival is centered around the Cahaba Lily, you will enjoy a small town lunch (some of the best Southern, home-cooked food, no less) and a fun day in the river. Learn about the festival here.
1. AL's Family Farms - Ft. Pierce, Florida
Al's family farms grows Florida citrus and other specialty fruits. They have a cadre of fun family events. This farm usually provides tours January - April. You can sign up for a notification email to learn when tickets open for the 17-18 citrus season.
2. Angell & Phelps Chocolate Factory - Daytona Beach, Florida
This company has been producing quality chocolates and candies since 1925. Sign up for a tour here.
3. Davidson of Dundee - Dundee, Florida
This is a citrus farm in central Florida. Although there isnt much information on the website, call ahead to get some information about tours. They are usually open November - April.
4. Hoffman's Chocolates - Greenacres, Florida
These free factory tours include a yummy sample at the end!
5. Yuengling - Tampa, Florida
This brewery tour is one of two the company offers. You'll see how it's brewed and bottled. Find more information here.
