You may have seen the movie Frozen.... you may have seen it a million times! (no judgement here) Before the villain is revealed, Hans tells the people of Arendelle that, "there is soup and hot glögg in the great hall." Today we're sharing a recipe for Swedish Glögg from one of our Swedish inspired vendors. Enjoy in a large mug (I'd recommend this vintage style enamel mug or 16oz Adorn Mug) and stay cozy!
Ingredients
2 bottles Red Wine
10-25 oz Spiced Rum
2 cups Water
3/4 cup Brown Sugar
5 Cinnamon Sticks
Peel of 1 Orange
5 slices Fresh Ginger
1 handful Cardamon Pods
1 handful Cloves
1 handful Star Anise
Directions
In a large pot, combine water and spices and simmer for an hour. Add wine, rum, and sugar and stir until sugar is dissolved. Let stand overnight. The next day, heat, strain and serve in a critter mug. Serve with almonds and raisins. Hot Glogg for the win!
