Cold Brew Breakfast Smoothie

Most mornings, I need a jump start with a bit of caffeine.  Jubilee Cold Brew is locally made and we love supporting other small businesses (don't worry, you can buy it online)!  This is a Jubilee breakfast recipe that I've made a few tweaks to.  Blend this up for a yummy start to your day!  If you're local (Huntsville, AL), be sure to grab their Guatemalan beans or cold brew at Whole Foods or you can order directly from their online shop here.  We've also shown an image below with a few other local options. {feat. our Vintage Style Towels}

Ingredients:

1/2 cup Jubilee cold brew coffee concentrate (frozen into cubes)
1/2 cup frozen raspberries (or other frozen berry)
1/8 cup rolled oats
1 Tbsp cocoa powder
1 tsp flaxseed meal
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1/2 tsp organic raw honey
sweetener of your choice (I used a few packets of Truvia)
1 scoop protein powder (optional)

Notes:  I substituted strawberries for the raspberries because that's what I had in my freezer.   You can use any frozen berry you like, but red raspberries contain strong antioxidants that fight against cancer and other diseases.  For the sweetener, you can use sugar, but I used a stevia based product (Truvia is one of many currently on the market).  I have very low blood sugar, so I don't drink any sugar these days.  Stevia is very sweet but does not affect blood sugar.  I also used whole flaxseed since that was in stock in my pantry.  It blended up with the rest of the ingredients.

Directions: Place all ingredients into blender and blend until smooth.  Let us know in the comments what you think.  Happy sipping!

    OH my goodness this sounds amazing! I wonder how it would taste if you added an egg and some baking soda and popped it in the oven for a few minutes too?! Breakfast bars are delicious! Will have to look out for that coffee because Guatemalan coffee is the BEST!!
